FAQ

Quick answers, no runaround.

The things people actually ask before ordering. If yours isn't here, email the shop directly — a real person answers.

Fastest route
Already have an STL or 3MF? Just upload it.

The quote page prices standard files automatically — it's quicker than reading any FAQ.

How do I place a custom order?

Upload your STL or 3MF on the quote page, pick material, color, strength, and quantity, and the price shows up as you go. When it looks right, add your address for a shipping quote and check out. No account needed.

What if I don't have a model file?

Browse premade designs in the store. Pick a product, choose its available options, and order without supplying a file. The automated custom quote requires a printable STL or 3MF; a design or engineering service is not included.

Can I order store prints and my own files together?

Yes. Premade store prints and your own uploaded models share one cart and check out together in a single order.

When do I see shipping costs?

Shipping is quoted in the cart after you enter your address, based on how your order actually packs into boxes. You'll see the full total — print plus shipping — before any payment happens.

How long until my order ships?

The cart shows an order-level processing estimate with your shipping quote, based on the production queue and your order. Production time and carrier transit time are separate. An estimate is not a guaranteed arrival date; ask before ordering if you have a deadline.

Which material should I pick?

Start with PLA for indoor decor and early prototypes. Compare PETG for everyday handling and ABS for greater heat or impact demands. For prolonged direct sun, ask about ASA, which is available by request outside the online configurator. Current stock and color choices appear in the quote. Suitability depends on the design and use conditions.

My project is unusual. Can I talk to a human?

Email [email protected] with your file or order details. It's a one-person shop, so you're writing to the person who actually runs the printers — unusual parts, tight tolerances, and weird questions are all fine.

How does 1 order = 1 tree work?

For every paid order, we fund the planting of one tree with our tree-planting partner. It's included in the price, so your total doesn't change, and we keep the commitment even if an order is later refunded. Funding goes out automatically, usually within minutes of payment. Trees are planted on each reforestation project's seasonal schedule, so there's no planting date for an individual order.

What if something's wrong with my order?

Email support with your order number and photos if an item arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or materially different from the order. The shop reviews replacement, repair, or refund options under the return policy. Custom prints are not returnable for buyer's remorse after production starts.

What files and part sizes can I upload?

Upload STL or 3MF files up to 50 MB each. STL must be at least 5 KB; a valid compressed 3MF can be smaller. The upload measures the model and checks the current FDM build limit. Check Model size after uploading, especially if your STL was exported from a tool using a different scale.

Does a 3MF keep its colors or separate its parts?

A 3MF is processed as build geometry and becomes one quote item, even if it contains several objects. Embedded material, color, and slicer settings do not control the order; your Printforgers choices do. Export separate files if parts need different settings or quantities.

Can I print a model from Printables or MakerWorld?

The quote lists STL and 3MF files from Printables and MakerWorld model links when available. Select the files you need, since groups may contain alternative versions. Provider access rules can block imports; MakerWorld downloads commonly require sign-in. Download on the original site and upload here if blocked. Browser sign-in does not transfer to the server importer.

Where can you ship?

Online checkout supports United States addresses. Enter your destination in the cart to confirm that an eligible shipping rate is available before payment. An address in the United States does not guarantee every carrier or service is available.

Can I use a print as a functional part or fit-check prototype?

FDM parts have visible layers and their fit and strength depend on geometry, orientation, material, walls, and infill. More infill alone does not guarantee performance. Tell support about a critical fit, load, heat, or outdoor use before ordering; do not assume a strength certification or universal dimensional tolerance.
